Agios Georgios South is a long sandy beach that lies just south of
lake Korission on the south west coast of
Corfu. It’s around 30km, which is about an hours drive from the capital and the airport.
Agios Georgios South has a full array of facilities including sunbeds and umbrellas to hire, water sports, a wind surfing school, toilets and showers as well as changing facilities. There’s loads of places to get food and drinks and parking is easy as there’s ample space at the rear of the beach close to the entrance road.
Some sections of the beach are fringed by tavernas and hotels and other sections are surrounded by olive groves so you can choose between amenities and nature.
The beach is suitable for youngsters as the sand shelves gently away into the beautiful clear waters of the Ionian sea, just be aware of the strong currents that sometimes affect the west coast and keep an eye on young ones and weak swimmers.
